About Millstadt Mill

This Historic Landmark Millling Operation is the only still-operable example of its kind, combining two great inventions from the Industrial Revolution: An Oliver Evans' Mill and a Joseph Dart Grain Elevator.

The Millstadt Mill was constructed in 1857 and was expanded in 1880. It is the oldest operable timber-frame grain mill and elevator in Illinois, and the largest surving mill (47,000 sq ft) of this type in the Midwest
